DEEP THOUGHT

WHO IS A HERO

The last time you look at yourself, who did you see? Did you see a hero, or a failure? There is a hero but I don’t really know the measures to find them. I don’t know if a hero is when I have nothing, or when I succeed in securing myself a good position in government.
Is a hero the one that can speak and convince the whole community,
But cannot prove his empty promises when the needs arise?
Is he one who walks with money,
But cannot give any impact to people’s life,
Is he one who talks about doing things,
But fear solving problems?
Is he one who claims faith,
While doing eye service,
But yet preaching holiness and freewill donors?
Is he one who wants to reap where he did not sow?
There are heroes, there are people who devote their time, strength, success, potentials, positions, etc. To make sure that they impart to peoples life especially the future leaders. I believe today that you can become a hero, not because you walk in plenty of money, not because you occupy the best position in government, not because you have the richest company in the whole world, but because you have little and you are ready to make use of that little in solving people’s problem.

WHO DO YOU WANT TO BLAME

Who do you want to blame for the sudden overtaking of poverty in our land,
Which has melted our skins, twist our faces, and maim our legs?
Who do you want to blame for the corruption that has become the other of the day,
When we no longer care to fulfill our promises,
Forgetting the very needs of our nation?
Who do you want to blame for the sudden blast of hunger,
When we abandon the very reason we are in position,
When our stomach no longer receive a good nutrient,
When we are weak and voiceless?
Do you want to blame the common man on the street,
Who feeds himself from the master table,
that the street is his limit?
Or do you want to blame the rulers,
Who live in paradise with gold surrounding them,
Who seek nothing but power to continue to rule?
Well, if you ask me, I will say that you have to blame yourself. The reason we are abandoned is because we accept offers that we shouldn’t. We are the reason why our nation cannot go beyond what we see today, we are the reason why our youth can’t become good leaders and not rulers, we are the reason why the poor continue to be poor and the rich continue to be rich. It is obvious that we don’t know if we want a “RULER” or a “LEADER”, because we too concern about what we can benefit and not what our nation can become through their tenure. The reason we are still doomed is because we never have a vision of what NIGERIA should look like by “2025”. We only have 11 years to build our nation to become the world’s paradise, how are we going to make this if we don’t even know what we want from our leaders.
Let the youth of today arise in one accord and say no to discord,
It is time that we say no to disunity,
It is time to say no to ethnic sentiment,
And welcome equal development,
It is time to set the element of hatred aside because it only leads to homicide.
We the youth are looking forward to that day when the system will change,
When we will all embrace “DEMOCRACY”
When there will be no “RULERS” but “LEADERS”
I BELIEVE IN YOU.
